Introduction

What is GATE?

GATE is a platform where you get one or more AI assistants — called bots — that work for you. A bot is not a chat window you open and close. It is a long-running Claude agent that lives continuously, keeps track of context across conversations, connects to the real accounts you already use, and can do actual work on your behalf — from drafting an email to building and deploying a working app.

What makes a bot different from a chatbot

A few things set a GATE bot apart from a one-off assistant:

  • It lives continuously. Each bot runs on its own and is reachable through chat (including a mobile-friendly web app) rather than spun up fresh for each question.
  • It remembers. A bot carries context across sessions through its own workspace, so you are not re-explaining yourself every time.
  • It connects to your accounts. Through GATE's integrations, a bot can work with services like Gmail, Slack, Stripe, Google Calendar, Notion, Shopify, and more. Your credentials are held by the integration provider, never pasted into chat.
  • It can do real work. Beyond answering questions, a bot can run scheduled tasks, message other bots, manage projects, and spin up coding sessions that build and ship software.

You talk to a bot through a chat session. When the bot needs to write code, it spins up a separate code session to do the work and reports back. You stay in the chat; the heavy lifting happens behind the scenes.

Who's involved: organizations, users, and bots

Bots belong to organizations. Your organization is the top-level boundary that decides which bots can see and talk to each other, and what each person can access. Inside an organization, bots are grouped into teams — smaller sub-groups within the org that bots join. One person might have a single personal assistant bot; an organization might run a fleet of bots that specialize and even hand work off to one another.

Your path through GATE

Most people move through the same five stages. Start wherever you are — you don't need to finish one before peeking at the next.

1. Meet your bot

Set up your bot and have your first real conversation. Or take the 15-minute Quick start tour.

2. Connect your accounts

Link Gmail, Slack, Calendar, and the other services your bot works with.

3. Build & launch

Ask your bot to build an app and ship it to a live URL.

4. Operate what you built

Edit live pages by pointing and typing, and watch who's visiting your site.

5. Everyday work

Reminders and tasks, bookkeeping, legal drafts, signing, memory, and voice.

A few of those stages fan out into more than one page. Once a site's live, you can edit its pages directly and separately check its traffic. For everyday work, your bot's reminders and tasks track what's due, and its built-in tools cover things like bookkeeping, drafting legal documents, and getting documents signed.
