Automate your week
Stop re-asking your bot the same things every day. Set it up once to check in on a schedule, then move anything bigger onto a task board where work gets created, picked up, and handed off without you babysitting it.
Who this is for
You're using your bot for real, recurring work — a morning check, a weekly report, the occasional one-off nudge — and some of that work is now big enough that it needs a status, not just a timer. This guide walks a realistic week: a few reminders to get the routine going, then the same work moved onto the task board once it needs tracking, assigning, or a hand-off between bots.
Before you start
- A bot you already talk to. Reminders and the task board both work in your normal chat — nothing extra to install or turn on.
- Know roughly what "every day," "every week," and "just this once" should mean for your task. The bot figures out the schedule from how you phrase the ask.
- The dashboard, for later. You don't need it to set reminders or create tasks, but you'll use it to see the task board, press Execute, and review completions.
Steps
Set a daily check-in. Ask for the recurring thing you want done every morning: "Every weekday at 9, check my inbox and summarise anything that needs a reply." Your bot confirms the schedule back to you in plain language. From then on, it wakes itself up at that time, in this same chat, and does the check without you asking again.
Add a weekly report. For something that only needs to happen once a week, say so directly: "Every Monday at 8, pull last week's numbers and send me a short report." This runs alongside your daily check-in — you can stack as many of these as you need, each on its own schedule.
Ask for a one-off nudge. Not everything recurs. For a single future reminder: "Remind me Friday afternoon to follow up with the supplier." Your bot fires that once, at the time you meant, then quietly turns itself off — no cleanup needed.
Move growing work onto the task board. Once something needs more than a nudge — it has steps, it might get reassigned, or you want a record of what happened — ask your bot to track it: "Add a task: renegotiate the supplier contract, high priority." Say the priority in plain terms — high, medium, or low — and your bot files it with that priority so it knows what to work on first.
Let the bot pick it up on its own. Most of the time you don't have to do anything else — your bot checks its task list on its regular rhythm and starts on whatever's next in priority order. Ask "What are you working on?" any time to see where things stand.
Push a task to start right now. If something can't wait for the next check-in, open the task on the dashboard's task board and press Execute. That wakes the bot immediately, in its live chat, with the task's details — no need to ask in chat first.
Review what got done. When a task finishes, your bot marks it done with a short summary of what it did. Ask "What did you finish this week?" or open the task board to read the summary directly.
Give feedback if it's not quite right. If a completed task needs another pass, say so: "That contract summary missed the payment terms — go back and add them." Your bot reopens the task automatically and picks it back up.
Hand a task off between bots. For work that needs a second bot to finish — say your drafting bot hands a finished document to a filing bot — ask for the hand-off when the first task completes: "Mark this done and pass the filing step to the compliance bot." Your bot completes its half and creates a linked follow-up task assigned to the next bot, so the thread of work carries over instead of getting lost.
What you'll see
- In chat: confirmation of each reminder's schedule when you set it, the reminder firing with its result at the right time, task creation confirmations, completion summaries, and reopened-task notices after feedback.
- On the dashboard's task board: every task with its status and priority, the checklist and comments on each one, the Execute button, and the linked follow-up task after a hand-off.
Troubleshooting
- A reminder fired at the wrong hour. Reminders run on the server's clock unless you say otherwise. If you meant your own time zone, say so when you set it — "9am Sweden time" — or ask your bot to redo the schedule with the time zone spelled out.
- A task isn't getting picked up. Bots check their task list on a regular rhythm, not instantly — if something needs to start right now, open it on the dashboard's task board and press Execute instead of waiting.
- A one-off reminder didn't come back after it fired. That's expected — one-shot reminders turn themselves off after firing once. If you need it again, just ask again.
- Feedback didn't seem to do anything. Reopening happens automatically when you give feedback on a done task, but the bot still works it on its own schedule unless you press Execute — say what's wrong, then Execute if you want it fixed immediately.
