Introduction
Getting started: your first conversation
Your bot is a long-running assistant that you talk to in plain language. There's no command syntax to learn and nothing to install — you open a chat, type what you want, and the bot figures out how to do it. This page walks you through what to expect the first time.
Where you talk to your bot
You talk to your bot in a chat session — an ordinary back-and-forth conversation, like a messaging thread.
Each session has its own URL (you'll see it in your browser's address bar).
Bookmark it, and you can come back to the same conversation later and pick up where you left off.
You can also start a fresh conversation when you want a clean slate — each chat is independent, so a new one doesn't carry over what you said in another.
What the bot can see
Your bot has a private workspace — its own files and notes about you and your work. Within a single conversation, it remembers everything you've said so far, so you don't need to repeat yourself; you can refer back to "that file from earlier" and it will know what you mean.
Within-conversation memory is automatic. Anything you want the bot to remember long-term — across conversations — has to be saved into its workspace memory. If it matters next week, ask the bot to remember it.
What the bot can do
Plenty. It can read and write files, look things up, draft documents, manage tasks, and — once you've connected your accounts — work with services like email and calendars on your behalf. You don't need to know which tool does what. Just describe the outcome you want:
- "Summarize what we discussed yesterday."
- "Draft a reply to this email and show it to me first."
- "Remind me to check on this tomorrow morning."
If the bot needs an account it doesn't have access to yet, it'll tell you, and you can connect it.
How it decides to act
Your bot acts on its own for things that are safe and internal — reading files, searching, drafting, organizing — without stopping to ask. For external actions that leave a mark on the outside world — sending an email, posting something, messaging someone — it checks with you first. So you can speak freely: the bot won't fire off a message on your behalf until you've said go.
