Track your business numbers
Get your store, ads, analytics, and finance accounts feeding one screen of honest numbers, then ask your bot to walk you through what changed.
Who this is for
You're running a product business with numbers scattered across half a dozen tools — a Shopify store, a Google Ads account, a CRM, maybe a crowdfunding campaign — and you want one place to see how it's all doing. Business Dashboard doesn't plan your spend or place your orders; it watches the numbers you already have and tells you the truth about them, including when a number isn't available yet.
Before you start
- Business Dashboard turned on for your org. It's off by default. If you don't see it on your dashboard's tool shelf, ask your org's admin to check tool access for Business Dashboard.
- Accounts to connect. Most sources ride GATE's general integrations flow — see Commerce, CRM & marketing for Shopify, Stripe, Pipedrive, Notion, Brevo, Apollo, YouTube, Reddit, Instagram, and Facebook, and Google Workspace for Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Search Console. Connect whatever your business actually uses — you don't need all of them.
- A little patience. An unconnected source renders an honest "not connected" card rather than a guess, and a handful of panels — crowdfunding tracking, sell-through, service health, cash runway, receivables, and FX exposure — don't have live data wired up yet no matter what you connect. The dashboard says so plainly instead of pretending.
Steps
Connect your sources. Connecting happens in the browser, not in chat — open your dashboard's Integrations page (or Business Dashboard's own Sources page for the sources it can fix directly) and connect each account you rely on: store, payment processor, ad accounts, analytics, CRM, email, and outreach tools. Not sure what's already hooked up? Ask your bot: "Which of my sources are connected to the Business Dashboard, and what's still missing?" It reports the real state — connected, not connected, or needs reconnecting.
Open the dashboard and read the cards. Business Dashboard groups everything into five sections — Money, Sales, Marketing, Inventory, and Service — each a row of cards fed by whichever sources you connected. A card with no source behind it says "not connected"; a card whose logic isn't built yet says so too, instead of guessing. If a card's meaning isn't obvious, ask: "What does the marketing efficiency card mean?" Your bot explains what it measures and where the numbers come from.
Ask the bot what the numbers mean. The same card data is available in chat, so you don't need to open the dashboard for every question. Ask things like "What did we spend on ads last month and what did it return?", "What's running low?", or "How is the campaign doing today?" Your bot answers from the same proven numbers behind the cards — never an estimate it made up to fill a gap.
Set up the flags that matter. Business Dashboard can message your bot when a number crosses a line you set — cash runway dropping below a threshold, blended CAC climbing too high, pipeline velocity stalling. Set thresholds from the Money section's alarm editor or the Overview alarm strip, or just tell your bot what to watch: "Tell me if our cash runway drops below three months." An alarm fires once when it crosses the line, then waits for the metric to recover before it can fire again — no repeat pings for the same problem.
Check in on a rhythm. Each morning, an AI-written brief summarizes what moved since yesterday, built only from numbers the cards already proved — nothing extrapolated, nothing invented. Glance at it on the Overview page, or ask: "What's in this morning's business brief?"
What you'll see
- In the dashboard: the Business Dashboard tool, with Overview, Money, Sales, Marketing, Inventory, and Service pages, plus a Sources page for connecting and reconnecting what it knows how to fix directly.
- In chat: answers to plain-language questions about your numbers, using the same data as the cards, plus alarm notifications when a threshold you set gets crossed.
- On cards without a connected source: an honest "not connected" state — never a placeholder number.
- On cards whose logic isn't built yet: a plain "this isn't available yet" instead of a silent gap.
Troubleshooting
- A card is empty or says "not connected." The source behind it isn't hooked up yet. Most sources connect from the general Integrations page; Apollo and Brevo are connectable there too but don't show a "Connect" button on Business Dashboard's own Sources page yet, so go connect them from Integrations directly.
- A card says "this module isn't built yet." Cash runway, receivables, the crowdfunding tracker, service health, sell-through, and FX exposure don't have working logic behind them yet, regardless of what you connect. That's not something reconnecting a source fixes — it's genuinely not shipped.
- Ad numbers look incomplete. The marketing efficiency card is built to include Meta Ads and TikTok Ads spend, but neither has a working connector yet — only Google Ads and Google Analytics currently feed it. If your ad spend lives mostly on Meta or TikTok, expect that card to undercount for now.
- Numbers seem to lag behind reality. Sources refresh on their own schedule — hourly, daily, or weekly, some only around events like a campaign or a shipment window — not the instant something changes upstream. Ask your bot when a source last refreshed if the timing matters.
- You want to stop a source from feeding the dashboard. There's no per-source disconnect inside Business Dashboard itself — disconnect it from the general Integrations page, or ask your admin to turn off the whole tool for your org.
Do this with your bot
Set up my Business Dashboard. Ask me which of my accounts to connect — store, analytics, ads, email, CRM, or finance — and point me to where to connect each one. Once a few sources are live, walk me through the cards that matter for my business and tell me honestly which ones don't have data yet. Then help me set a flag or two on the numbers I care about most, like cash runway or ad spend, so you tell me in chat if something crosses a line.
Copy this brief and paste it to your bot in chat — it will ask for anything it needs before doing the work.
